Han Xie is a London-based designer and maker working at the intersection of craft & industrial design. Xie’s workflow blends digital fabrication with hands-on making, from sketching and CAD modelling to rendering and workshop production. The Boolean Chair reimagines the relationship between maker, tool, and the perceived value of the human touch in craft. The cavity embodies the physical imprint of the sitter; designed by 3D scanning a person and interpreted through CNC milling. This object serves both as furniture and as a spatial record depicting a collision of human and digital agency, where touch is rendered not by hand but by code and cutter.
