Marek Bimer is a prominent Polish sculptor-designer whose work spans sculpture, drawing, and interior and object design. Often sculpting with his eyes closed, he relies on his hands to detect imperfections. Tornado is an example of such work; a standing light sculpture whose name reflects a dynamic, vertical form. When paired with a static, often stone base, it evokes the powerful image of a tornado touching down. Each sculpture differs in form and arrangement. Every piece is entirely unique, defined by its colour combinations and the varied configurations of the illuminated upper section. These standing sculptures captivate both in their unlit, sculptural state and when their hidden dimension, the internal light, is revealed.
