Willem Zwiers

Willem Zwiers is an autonomous designer who graduated Cum Laude from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2023 and was nominated for the Melkweg Award with ‘Willem’s Ceramics Atelier.’
Willem’s practice is very intuitive and experimental with a hands-on way of working. “I find certain essences of materials, forms and colours. By creating my own working methods and even own tools, I’m able to push the boundaries of what seems impossible.”
He developed his ‘Blow Up Collection’ in 2023 by inflating clay slabs in wooden moulds with compressed air. Each piece takes on a unique, balloon-like shape.
