Tijn van Orsouw finds inspiration in natural or reused materials that have their own stories, incorporating them into his creations. Livestock is a collection of foldable stools that explores how furniture can function as both object and storage within compact living spaces. Rather than being hidden away, the stools are designed to be displayed in their unfolded state, transforming storage into a visual presence.
The stools shift between a flat, two-dimensional form and a functional three-dimensional seat, held together by the tension of their upholstery. Constructed from a wooden frame and flexible materials, each piece gains its character through carefully chosen upholstery. Materials such as animal skins and tweed evoke strong cultural associations, adding narrative and atmosphere to the collection.
