For Design Miami 2025, Bethan Laura Wood and 1882 Ltd. present Pickle Tower, an avant-garde sculptural work that channels the boldness and vitality of Wood’s Disco Gourds collection. Each element is crafted using the heritage technique of slip lining, a ceramic art form rooted in centuries of tradition and requiring exceptional skill to master. Meticulously hand-drawn lines and richly layered colours create intricate patterns that capture the movement, rhythm, and expressive energy characteristic of Wood’s practice, bringing together heritage craftsmanship, technical precision, and audacious contemporary design.
