Jesse’s presented objects explore sheet steel’s malleability and its ability to behave like paper. Developed from a series of paper maquettes, the works are scaled into steel through heating, hammering, laser cutting, and welding in his London studio. Retaining the cartoon-like charm of the original models, the resulting forms evoke megalithic structures or stone furniture while remaining surprisingly light, challenging expectations of steel in domestic settings.
