Yichen Tang is a London-based Chinese product designer whose practice explores how traditional craft and making knowledge can be reinterpreted through contemporary materials and manufacturing processes. Inspired by the long history of bamboo craftsmanship across Asia, her work investigates the relationship between traditional weaving and industrial production, exploring how bamboo craft can be integrated into contemporary furniture and how industrial materials can support and evolve traditional making techniques.
