These ceramic pieces are made by fusing loosely collected fragments inside moulds in the kiln. This technique creates objects that seem to be both hand-crafted and naturally formed, with the smooth surfaces left by the mould contrasting with the chaotic gathering of chunks and fluids within. ‘Needle’ series has incorporated fragments of twigs made of puddle mud, glazes made with wood ash and photographs of the sky in a pine forest
