Additive Collection

‘Additive’ is a tryptic of 3 solid glass half cones, each flat surface coloured respectively Yellow/Blue, Cyan Dark Red and Magenta Green. Inspired by the question ‘does colour exist in the mind or the world’, its form represents the cones in our eyes, which are the basis of our colour perception. By applying a dichroic coating to the flat surface, the colours displayed are through the breakdown of light spectrum rather than any pigmentation of the glass. As the viewer interacts with the work, the colours shift and change allowing them to speculate about where colour lies.
