Core Vessels

Core is a series inspired by prehistoric African moulding techniques.
The origin of a vessel was an extension of the human hand, carrying basic necessities. These created imperfect forms and the humanistic approach to the subject matter are visualised in the collection. The designer has transformed a traditionally round vessel into a flat version, resulting in a new archetype. Every piece is unique in shape, thinner than 10 cm, and made out of two thick flat pieces of clay. The chamber containing the water is placed in the middle of every vessel, giving them stability. The vessels are finished in earthy tones, showing noticeable signs of the maker at work.
