The Gozotte collection was inspired by the Goggotes sandstone concretions discovered near Fontainebleau in northern France. These intriguing natural sculptures were created when superheated water was extruded through crevices into a basin of extremely fine white silicate sand. Moreover, the water had been saturated with calcium carbonate (limestone). The water's swirls and eddies were captured in the gradually concreting stone. The goal was to capture human characteristics and attributes in a non-human object while also representing a frozen moment of movement in time.
