This collection of lamps has been created using Eve’s research into the industrial history of Limehouse in East London, and its integral relationship with the Thames. She uncovered a gritty and fascinating history of dock and related nautical crafts such as rope making and pattern making, in the 19th century. These industries no longer exist, but while traces of them remain she was captivated by their utilitarian tools and equipment. By bridging the gap between past and present Eve invites people to consider and re-evaluate the importance of well-made design in the modern world.
