Originally designed in 1954 by Swiss neo-functionalist pioneer Willy Guhl for Eternit, the Loop Chair is a mid-century icon of modern garden furniture. Formed from a continuous ribbon of fibre-reinforced cement, its sculptural, minimal form balances lightness of line with a quietly monumental presence.
This early example retains a raw surface shaped by time, exposure and use. A protective lacquer has been applied in line with Eternit’s recommendations to stabilise the material while preserving its patina.
Equally suited to indoor and outdoor use, the design is especially striking in natural settings, where it continues to weather gracefully and develop subtle tonal variations over time.
