The console table was design with locality in mind. For this piece, the wood is sourced from Hever in Kent, 40 miles south from London and seasoned by Bruce Saunders, fellow member at Blackhorse Workshop. The wood is then hand-carved and finished with natural oils by the designer. In collaboration with Catherine Martin from James Stonework in Malvern, the complementary stone legs are shaped from Jordan’s Whitbed extracted in Portland, about 180 miles from East London. All parts are assembled together by brass details including a tubular hinge allowing the stone leg to rotate and find the perfect third point of stability.
