Raku is a Japanese low fire process that dates back to the 16th century. Vessels are taken from the kiln while they are still red hot and placed into red hot embers. Through this collection the designer aims to reinterpret this historic technique to craft contemporary designs.
The physical process of creation is visible in the final outcome, as each piece is unique with charming imperfections. Keeping alive an intuitive approach to making, the designer cultivates the richness of the sensory experience.
