To create the SHELL collection, one unique mould was manufactured with each iteration in the series coming from this same mould. Through it, the designer wishes to explore the tension between repetition and intuition. The mould is made from 564 individual, CNC cut, sheets that are stacked but not fixed to one another. The mould trembles in response to the pressures of use. To form a SHELL VESSEL MOVEMENT, porcelain is pressed against the internal volume of the stacked layers. Each layer of the mould is then peeled off to reveal the formed vessel within.
