Social Love Thonet Bench

This piece is designed as a reaction to the Covid19 lockdown and its unique social and economic impact. It reflects this serious subject in a light, playful and optimistic way. Inspired by the concept of social distance, the bench ensures that there is suitable distance between two people as a result of the empty space in between. The bench is made from 1930s Thonet chairs, the original seats have been replaced with transparent acrylic and coloured tiles which are immersed in resin. Mosaic elements add a beautiful touch, injecting fun and colour to the bench paired with the strategic openings in the wooden structure. This piece is a unique open edition.
