Hana Vopravilová is a Czech glass maker who moves fluidly between design and fine art. Her practice is driven by a fascination with process, where a gently emotional aesthetic intersects with the intrinsic character of the materials she chooses. Often working with visually overlooked, consumerist materials that are near the end of their life cycle, she approaches them with an acknowledged sense of naivety.

Corrugated cardboard and paper honeycomb moulds for glass blowing are recurring elements in her work. In her PAP – Paper As Patterner collections, she employs paper as a “patterner”: a tool that transfers its hidden visual identity onto molten glass. Through this method, Vopravilová invites reflection on material transformation, the memory embedded in matter, and the decorative language of contemporary society.
