"Why don't you throw it away?" is a manifest decor that extends the life of fabrics by transforming their form and purpose over time. Through woven illustrations, Blanche Vivet shows how textiles can evolve—from a curtain to a jacket, and then a pillowcase. Rather than discarding or storing items, Vivet invites us to actively engage with them, allowing fabrics to grow and live again. This project challenges our disregard for both what we throw away and what we keep but never use, emphasising the importance of actively conserving rather than passively preserving. The tapestries use the jacquard technique, traditionally valued for transmitting stories across generations.
