Break With Care

With Break with Care, Mint explores the alluring tension between vulnerability and strength, where materials are upcycled, smashed and reassembled to reveal new forms of beauty. Through acts of transformation, the exhibition challenges the established order of conventional design, inviting viewers to reconsider the character of other materialities and their potential for reinvention. Each work embodies an intuitive approach to creation, embracing chance, fracture, and the poetic possibilities of reconstruction at their core.

Mint invites audiences to engage with objects that balance innovation and elegance—from Tijn van Orsouw’s transformation of raw materials into vessels of meaning, to Ivi van Keulen’s deliberate gestures of breaking, to Filip Pista’s structural study of vulnerability and strength. Each celebrates imperfection as a form of grace.

At its core, Break with Care is an invitation to reimagine the meaning of holding something fragile, to honour the process of making, and to find strength in what has been undone to fulfil the power of transformation.
