BRUTALISTA 01 is a minimalist coffee table by Antwerp based designer Marc Meeuwissen, developed under the concept “One Sheet. One Saw. One Object.” Made from a single sheet of timber based material, it is shaped entirely with a handsaw, which defines both its form and its raw, unpolished surface. Saw marks and areas of exposed material are intentionally preserved, with surfaces partially coated in sawdust and sealed with a water based lacquer. Inspired by brutalist architecture, the piece embraces limitation as a creative force, resulting in a functional object with a monumental, tactile presence.
