The DOL series is based on the designers’ time living on Jeju, Korea’s volcanic island, and reinterprets basalt forms using soft expanded cork. On the island, stones are ever-present -- rough and solid in appearance, yet often places to pause, rest, or lean against. By hand-carving and hardening cork, the series recreates the emotional texture of Jeju’s stones, inviting an experience of the difference between what is seen and what is felt.
