Frank’s Flower Pots

These hand-embroidered sketches are created from hand drawings using layers of silk organza over linen or cotton. Emily uses flat blocks of colour which provide a graphic quality, whilst layering different fabrics which provides depth and perspective, bringing the pieces to life. These pieces are inspired by her Grandfather's majolica flower pot; their cracked surfaces which have been stuck together in places with pink tape is depicted within the colourful organza layers.
