Stoneware Raku fired with iron chloride and bramble leaves
The Imbrication collection is made by layering tiny pieces of clay, one fingertip sliver upon another creating an intricate overlapping texture. The process is philosophically inspired by the making practices of other species, such as beavers who build dams without a predetermined shape. Creating the piece intuitively allows more freedom in the making process which gives an organic character to the pieces.
