Hand-carved and sanded scagliola
Part of the ongoing series Idleness, Lazy Pillow reflects on the quiet mental space that emerges during moments of rest. While idleness may appear as inaction, it leaves subtle traces behind—an imprint in a pillow, a mark that lingers after the body has moved on.
Originally accompanying these moments of stillness, the pillows have gradually absorbed the traces themselves. No longer carrying bodily impressions, they have become idle objects in their own right, leaning against furniture or hanging from walls in a suspended state of pause.
Crafted in scagliola, a traditional technique rarely practiced today, each piece embraces a slower rhythm of making, inviting contemplation and allowing the mind to wander.
