A wetland is a planetary ecosystem that is saturated with water, which in some cases preserves organic materials – such as wood – for millennia. The storage under low oxygen levels initiates a fossilisation process that naturally colours the wood, creating deep black and gold tones.
In this case, Oak has been extracted and cast in resin, preserving, and enhancing its preciousness and charm. To create the form, a transparent vertical pillar supports the wood, hiding the fastening system to create a visually striking light yet lightweight statement piece.
